Sanabel Securities Company, a branch of the Bank of Khartoum, launched an investment fund worth 4.75 billion Sudanese pounds, equivalent to 11.3 million dollars. This fund offers the country’s first green skukuk and aims to finance the production of 55 megawatt-hours per day of electricity for industries such as agriculture and mining. According to the company, the fund will be divided into bonds of 500 Sudanese pounds each. The united Nations had previously indicated that electricity does not reach more than 60% of the population of Sudan and that the country does not produce enough to cover current consumption.
